Terms of Service — MatchPoint

Last updated: 31 May 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MatchPoint (the "Service"), a web application for organising and managing sports tournaments, operated by Gracile Pereira, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

MatchPoint lets organisers create tournaments, add participants, generate draws and schedules, record scores, and share a public results page. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; upload or enter content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes others' rights; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems; disrupt or overload the Service; or use automated means to access the Service except as expressly permitted. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

4. Participant data entered by organisers

If you are an organiser, you may enter information about participants (such as names and, optionally, club or email). You confirm that you have a lawful basis to provide this information and to have it processed through the Service, and that you will comply with applicable data protection laws in respect of those participants. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter. See our Privacy Policy for how we process personal data.

5. Plans, payments, and billing

The Service offers free use for small tournaments and paid options for larger ones:

  • Per-tournament payments: a one-time fee, based on the tournament's participant tier, charged when you create a paid tournament. This unlocks that specific tournament only.
  • Club subscription: a recurring (monthly or yearly) subscription granting unlimited tournaments while active.

Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed by Stripe; by paying, you also agree to Stripe's terms. We do not store your full card details. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel at any time through the billing portal, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

6. Refunds

Our Refund and Cancellation Policy forms part of these Terms and explains when refunds are and are not available.

7. Your content and the public page

You retain ownership of the content you create (tournament details, rules, participant lists, results). You grant us a licence to host, store, and display that content as needed to provide the Service, including on the public tournament page accessible via a shareable code. You are responsible for the content you publish, including any rules text and participant information shown publicly.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control. We may modify these Terms; we will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profit, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as payment obligations and liability limits) will survive.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
